Application Support Manager

What you’ll do

• Partner with business teams to analyse, document and improve IT and business systems, workflows and processes, propose system enhancements and developments to add value and increase efficiency, identify skills and training requirements and ensure IT Business solutions are optimised
• Manage business units change and development request processes, building a prioritised portfolio of changes, preparing business cases and project plans and providing Project Management and delivery support for approved IT Business projects
• Liaise with and actively manage internal and 3rd Party service providers in ensuring service performance and delivery levels support the operational requirements of the business, reviewing both required and potential enhancements or upgrades for their impact on the business and overseeing their configuration, testing, acceptance, release and deployment
• Proactively research, identify and validate IT, system and technology innovations – whether in the general marketplace or the construction sector – for their effectiveness and applicability to the business, and encourage and support their trial and adoption

Have you got what it takes?

• Extensive knowledge of the construction sector and associated systems, metrics, processes, procurement, supply chain and finance
• Strong experience of business analysis, requirements collection and workshop management, preparation of as-is and to-be business process designs
• Working with Heads of Service on the prioritisation, assessment and selection of enhancement, development and request for change approvals, maintained and reported as part of a group wide project portfolio and change management system, monitoring, reporting and intervening in ensuring requests remain aligned with strategic aims (preferably Prince2 qualified)
• Design and deployment of reporting tools and skills
• Familiarity with the design and operation of online and digital processes, statistical methods and data analysis, and geographic information systems amongst others
• Problem solving skills
