Seddon see’s the launch of their brand-new initiative, Foundation.

This month Seddon see’s the launch of their brand-new initiative, Foundation.

The group, championed by Nicola Hodkinson, has been tasked with giving Seddon the building blocks to develop the right cultures, tools and behaviours to drive the success of the business, as Nicola explains,

“As Seddon continues to evolve and grow, so to, do the needs of our business and as a result, the needs of our people, as our workforce has a much different profile than say, 5 years ago.

We’ve got people starting their careers with us and people with more than 20 years’ service.  We’ve got working parents, people who like to work set hours and those who need a less structured schedule.

As the profile of our workforce changes, our commitment to people stays at the top of the agenda and as we move forward, what we are learning is that, to continue to function well, we need to accommodate all those needs.

Foundation has been created to work with our people, to help ensure that, as employers, we provide a challenging and exciting working environment, with the opportunity to learn, develop and grow.”

Over the coming months, various sub groups will be set up under the Foundation banner, working towards helping create that working environment.  The first three groups have already been created:

Foundation Women, Foundation Millennials and Foundation Networks.

Whilst very different in their focus, all three groups are made up of Seddon employees who are working together to look at the current situation, harness ideas and provide feedback to create positive change.

Both Millennials and Networks are well underway, working on their respective agendas and this week, we’ll be opening applications to join the women’s group and hope to see applications from women across the business, as Nicola explains

“We’re opening group membership up to all the women at Seddon, and hope to get some great project ideas from our applicants. We’ve got a real opportunity to create lasting positive change,  not just for the women at Seddon, but women across the industry.  I’m really excited to see what our network can achieve”
