In September we launched Project Leader, our new development initiative aimed at introducing and supporting consistently high standards of project delivery across Seddon.
We’ve developed the course in partnership with Salford College, and this ‘first of its type course’ blends learning styles with classroom based learning, practical on-site assessment, peer assessment and observations all being used to help develop skills, alongside gaining an accredited project management qualification.
The course is being championed by Peter Jackson who said, “Leadership and project management skills shouldn’t be taken for granted nor left to intuition. To be the best contractor to work with we must invest in our people and give them all the tools they need not only to deliver projects to the customer brief but to make the journey enjoyable too! This is why we have developed our bespoke project leadership course.”
Each cohort will undertake 8 modules, specifically created for Seddon project managers, over a two year period, and our first cohort of eight project managers started on Monday 10th September; they are due to complete in June 2020.

Head of Training Kat Healey said: “With a further three cohorts already signed up to undertake learning, it’s proving to be one of the most popular initiatives we’ve ran; I’m really looking forward to seeing these guys use what they are learning out on site. There’ll hopefully be some great feedback that we can share with you all!”
