ROY RECEIVES MBE IN QUEENS BIRTHDAY HONOURS

Seddon are delighted to announce that their Training & Education Executive, Roy Cavanagh, has been awarded the MBE in The Queen?s birthday honours list for his services to the construction industry.

Roy, who has been employed by the company for over 43 years, started his career in the Payroll Department and progressed through the company to his current role as Training & Education Executive concentrating on Training & Education policies.

Over the past 43 years Roy?s professional achievements have been many and varied and are summarised below. Two major achievements which utilise Roy?s gift for innovation, communication, co-ordination and highlight his unlimited commitment to the people within Construction Industry are Chair of the 14-19 C&BE Diploma for employers nationally and Chair of Salford Construction Partnership Employer Group both exciting and pressured roles ensuring delivery of the required services locally and nationally.


However, the more impressive achievement is the positive effect that he has had on the hundreds of young people he has nurtured during apprenticeships, helping to shape their futures and secure the skill base, not just for Seddon, but for the construction industry as a whole.

On a personal note Roy, who was brought up in Salford, currently lives in Worsley with his wife, Barbara. They have two sons and three grandchildren. He is an avid Manchester United supporter and cricketer. He is an accomplished author of 12 sporting books and is a regular after dinner speaker around the country.
