Singing builder provides Valentine’s vocals for care home event

Lee Clarke, a site manager for builder and developer, Seddon, took to the stage at Adlington Manor Care Home in Macclesfield to entertain residents with a Valentine’s Day performance.

The nursing home, which is managed by Barchester Healthcare, providing elderly and dementia care, hosted the event to bring relatives and residents together on the special day.

Lee was invited to sing nostalgic love songs and encouraged the elderly residents and staff to join in.

The Seddon employee, who is overseeing refurbishment work on seven bedrooms and communal areas at Barchester Care Home, has also made external garden planters for the home using his own materials and time.

Fiona Gough, manager of Barchester Care Home, said: "After his fabulous Christmas performance, we were delighted to welcome Lee back to entertain our residents, who tell me the old songs bring back the best memories.”

Lee said: "I’ve been singing for many years now, and it’s a great passion of mine, so I’m glad I can put it to good use. It’s fantastic to see the smiles on the faces of the residents and their families.”
