Builder and developer Seddon has appointed a new business development manager as it re-opens offices in North Wales.
The company, which has offices in Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and Bolton, has added a new base in Mold, Flintshire, to its growing presence across the UK.
As part of its expansion into the region, Seddon has welcomed Nikki Waud as a business development manager operating in North Wales and the North West of England.
Nikki joins the £190 million turnover firm from Bullock Construction where she held a similar role for three years and brings with her more than a decade of experience in the construction sector.
Nikki said: "Seddon has an impressive history in both the social housing and construction sector, having been established in the region for 118 years.
"In a time of uncertainty for the market, Seddon is a safe pair of hands and consistently delivers high-quality developments.”
The company has a long history of working in Wales and its new base on Mold Business Park demonstrates a commitment to delivering community regeneration and employment opportunities for people living in the region.
Nikki added: "Wales represents a key market for Seddon and we are already looking to talk to suppliers and subcontractors. We are also keen to bring Seddon’s training and development ethos to the area.
"The company delivers real value to the area it works in through its apprenticeships – something we are keen to explore with our social housing clients both new and existing.”
Seddon has taken on apprentices for the past 80 years, and regularly receives 500 applications for its three and a half year traineeships.
Jonathan Seddon, Managing Director at Seddon, said: "Nikki’s appointment is part of a big step for the company as we expand our operations into Wales.
"Nikki joins us at a very exciting time – 2015 has already seen us take on large contracts, purchase new offices in Birmingham and increase the number of frameworks we are listed on.
"With our solid and consistent performance, commitment to training, loyal supply chain – who are paid on time every time - and the continued hard work of our people, we are looking forward to delivering real value for our clients well into the future.”
