apprentices and trainees with national construction specialist Seddon will be
honoured at a VIP awards event on Friday, 1 November at Salford City College.
for Salford and Eccles Hazel Blears will attend to meet the company’s rising
young stars and will also present the Outstanding
Contribution in Learning Award for the apprentice, trainees or graduate who
has most shone in 2013. Awards will also go to the top apprentices in their
first and second years of training and to the company’s overall Apprentice of the Year 2013.
has received a series of accolades for its training achievements, including
being named Employer of the Year (for the second time in three years) by the UK
Contractors Group in 2013 for its industry-leading apprentice programme. Places
on the programme are keenly contested with Seddon receiving 870 applications
for the 2013 intake. Seddon has also recently secured National Skills Academy
for Construction status for its plans to train 50 apprentices, create over 90
new jobs and organise 134 work placements over the next three years.
