A charity golf day is being planned in tribute to Christopher Seddon, the former Seddon chair, who sadly passed away in August 2015 at the age of 73 after an 18 month battle with cancer.
Christopher was a key figure locally and was well respected throughout the construction industry. He devoted all of his working life to his company, 56 years in total, and was awarded an MBE in 2014 in recognition of his services to apprenticeships and charities.
Seddon is today being led by his son, Jonathan Seddon, with his sister Nicola and his brother James by his side.
The event is to be held on Friday August 19 at Worsley Golf Club, and is being organised by the club, Optics Golf Society and the Seddon family.
150 people are expected to take part in the day with guests including friends, family and long-standing colleagues.
All money raised on the day will be donated to the Christie Hospital in Manchester.
Christopher’s son Jonathan Seddon, who is Managing Director at the company, said: "Dad was a very keen golfer and we thought this was a great way to raise money for an exceptional cause in his memory. We look forward to seeing everyone on what should be a great day”.
