All work relating to heritage buildings or places of worship– whether it’s painting, decorating or repairs – requires a specialised approach and a respect for traditional ways of working.

As a company, we are proud of our own history, which dates back to the 19th century. So we understand the nature of old buildings and the skills of the craftsmen who built them – such as marbling, graining, gilding and gold leaf. We are also very conscious of the need to ensure those skills are passed down through the generations.

We know that our success for the future rests on the young apprentices we train within our centre of excellence. They will go on to join our team of craftspeople that is able to deliver excellence along with a passion for the past.

Through long-established relationships with our supply chain, we can also source materials which meet the specification for listed buildings – but are legally compliant with current regulations. For instance, replacing lead base paint with an acceptable alternative.
