Over a long period of time, we have built strong relationships by appointing suppliers who have matching business cultures – so that our strengths complement each other and we are able to draw on local expertise wherever relevant. We have developed comprehensive systems for close-working with this dedicated supply chain and hold annual events to share our business plan and discuss what we feel is important in terms of our combined performance. We actively engage with our supply chain and customers to share best practise and new techniques and technologies that can improve our quality in terms of service and product.
This communication loop has seen all parties enjoy the full benefits of sharing in the latest innovations. Different elements of the supply chain are chosen by assessing performance from previous projects, or by asking them to submit a budget for their works then asking them to design accordingly. Supply chain input is continuously monitored by various methods – for example, regular meetings occur at project level to discuss particular customer and Seddon requirements, along with any technically challenging or commercial issues that we collectively foresee. As part of our procedures, on completion of their works or completion of the project, supply chain performance is measured along with that of our own team’s professional performance. One of the key factors in our success has been the way in which we integrate our supply chain, including all architects, designers, planners and subcontractors.
